We are a club based in Dunedin, New Zealand, with weekly sessions at the Moana Pool, and our competitive swimmers are given the chance to participate in regular competitions and events all around NZ and even the world. Neptune Prize Giving and AGM - Monday 20 July
Well done to all the swimmers who participated in our recent club champs. Results, trophies, medals and certificates will be presented at the prize giving and AGM on 20th July.
2009 Neptune Queen's Birthday Carnival
Neptune would like to thank all those who volunteered their time to help make the 2009 Queen's Birthday meet a success. We would also like to thank the sponsors for their support: Southern Colour Print, Fuji Xerox, Murray's Vet Clinic, Blackhead Quarries, Otago Tyres, Otago Polytechnic, Establo Alpacas and Farm Stay, Beaumount & Bridgemount Optometrists, Kingsgate Hotel, Bungard Building LTD and Vincent George House of Travel. Results are available to download on our events page.
Neptune won the top team points for the event with strong competion from Wharenui (2nd) and Jasi (3rd). The top team of less than 10 swimmers went to the Moranbah Highlanders, a visiting team from Central Queensland, Australia.
Neptune swimmers also had a strong showing in the individual prize categories:
- 15 and Over Male - 1st Place - Nick Tyrell (also 2nd overall in the total points)
- 15 and Over Female - 1st Place - Katie Kenneally
- 13-14 Female - 1st Place - Emily Poon
- 11-12 Male - 1st Place Ronald Poon
Neptune swimmers set a total of 22 Otago Records over the weekend, which was an amazing testament to the hard work our swimmers have been putting into their training over the last year. The new Otago Records are listed below.
